Center for Grief & Healing

Since its inception, Hinds LifeCare has understood the value of providing ongoing support to families after the death of a loved one.

Initially, this grief support was provided primarily to the family members of our Hinds LifeCare patients by our bereavement staff. Our bereavement program expanded in response to ongoing requests for specialized support from our communities in Fresno, Madera, and Merced Counties.

Support Group Schedule

Our counseling services include

  • Counseling for individuals diagnosed with a life-limiting illness
  • Counseling for those whose loved one is facing a life-limiting illness
  • Counseling for individuals and families impacted by the death of a loved one
  • Counseling for individuals and couples facing infant or pregnancy loss and/or infertility, as well as those needing support who are in pregnancy after a loss

Our counseling services are not limited to patients and families that are being served by Hinds LifeCare. Our grief counseling services are open to anyone in the community needing grief support.

Unfortunately, due to the limits of confidentiality, outside guests, such as student observers, are not permitted to attend grief support groups.

Healing After a Loss by Overdose

Healing After a Loss by Overdose emerged in January 2024 as a lifeline for families in central California facing the intense impact of drug overdose or death by substance use. HALO offers a compassionate space for shared experiences and provides valuable tools to navigate the complexities of grief.

The Center for Grief & Healing at Hinds LifeCare was developed in 2005 in response to the growing need for support throughout our Central Valley communities.
